NHL Odds: Predators-Canucks at Rogers Arena

After barely missing out on their first Stanley Cup, the Nashville Predators haven’t skipped a beat. They have one of the best records in the NHL at 18-7-4, and they’ve won eight of their last 11 games heading into Wednesday’s West-Coast date with the Vancouver Canucks (14-13-4), beginning at 10 PM ET.

Nashville got off to a slow start this year, but everything fell into place when they acquired center Kyle Turris from the Ottawa Senators on November 5. Turris has three goals and 10 assists in 14 games for the Preds, playing on the No. 2 line between LW Kevin Fiala and RW Craig Smith; top center Ryan Johansen (three goals, 14 assists in 23 games) may be able to play Wednesday after missing three games with an upper-body injury.
The Canucks were expected to be bottom-feeders this year in the Pacific Division, but while their level of play is still sub-standard, it hasn’t been a total disaster in Year One under rookie head coach Travis Green. Unfortunately for Vancouver, two of their top three scorers will miss Wednesday’s game and might not return until February: center Bo Horvat (broken ankle) and LW Sven Baertschi (broken jaw).
