NFL Odds: Pats Seek Revenge in Philly

NFL Odds: Patriots, Eagles in Super Bowl LII Rematch

It’s been almost two years since the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots at Super Bowl LII. They’ll finally meet again this Sunday in Philadelphia, kicking off at 4:25 PM ET on CBS. The long-range forecast calls for partly cloudy skies over Lincoln Financial Field and temperatures in the high 40s at game time.

Quite a few things have changed since these teams last met. The Eagles (5-4 SU, 4-5 ATS) haven’t been the same since QB Nick Foles left town; Carson Wentz has been more league-average than MVP this year. Meanwhile, the Patriots (8-1 SU, 6-3 ATS) have turned themselves into a defensive juggernaut, papering over the diminishing marginal returns they’re getting from 42-year-old QB Tom Brady.

Philadelphia’s defense also hasn’t been nearly as good as it was in 2017, thanks in part to a wave of injuries. Now the receiving corps is down a man after WR DeSean Jackson (abdominal tear) went on injured reserve last Tuesday. The Eagles have re-signed a familiar face to replace Jackson: Jordan Matthews, who played in Philly from 2014-16 and again last year. Matthews was available as a free agent after failing to latch on with the San Francisco 49ers.
