Here\’s a quick look at three of the more interesting matchups of the weekend:

Steelers -1, 33 at Bills, Thursday, 7:30 pm Eastern

Super Bowl hopeful Pittsburgh opened this season with a 16-10 win as 2-point home underdogs over the Eagles last Friday, while Buffalo lost at Washington 17-14 but covered as 6-point road dogs. In their one preseason under coach Mike Tomlin last year, the Steelers won four of five games and covered the spread in three of them. Meanwhile, the Bills, in their two preseasons under coach Dick Jauron, are 3-5 straight up and 4-4 against the spread. These two teams met in Week 2 last season, with Pittsburgh winning as 10-point home chalk 26-3. The NFL lines at Diamond Sportsbook have the Steelers -1 -110* with the Bills +1 +100*.

Cowboys +3, 37 at Broncos, 9 pm Eastern Saturday

Dallas, the favorites to win the NFC this season, lost at San Diego last Saturday 31-17 as three-point road underdogs. Meanwhile Denver, which has missed the playoffs the last two seasons, opened this preseason with a 19-16 loss at Houston last Saturday, pushing the spread as three-point road dogs. In their first exhibition season under coach Wade Phillips last year, the Cowboys went 2-2 both straight up and against the spread. On the other sidelines, the Broncos have gone 9-3 SU and 7-5 ATS in their last three preseasons under long-time coach Mike Shanahan. These two teams met during the exhibition season last year, with Dallas coming away with a 31-20 win, outrushing Denver 190-35. The Broncos are also listed at -146* on the sports football betting moneyline for Saturday\’s game, with the Pokes getting +136*.

Browns +3, 35 ½ at Giants, 8 pm Eastern Monday, ESPN

Cleveland, a somewhat surprising winner of 10 games last season, opened this season with a 24-20 loss to the Jets last Thursday as 4 1/2-point home chalk. The Browns led that game by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but gave up two long TDs to cough up the win and the cover. The Super Bowl champion Giants opened this year with a 13-10 defeat in Detroit last Thursday, pushing the line as three-point dogs. In its three preseasons under coach Romeo Crennel, Cleveland is 8-4 straight up and 9-3 against the spread. Meanwhile in four exhibition seasons under coach Tom Coughlin, New York is 9-7 both SU and ATS. The G-Men are also listed at -143* on the Online NFL betting moneyline for this game, with the Brownies getting +133*. These two teams haven\’t met since the 2005 exhibition season.

In Week 1 NFL exhibition action last weekend, home teams won nine of the 16 games, but could only manage to go 4-10-1 against the spread (one game went off as a pick \’em). Favorites on the Sportsbook football betting lines went 7-8 straight up, but just 2-11-2 ATS, and home chalk went 6-7 SU and 2-9-2 vs. the numbers. The only home underdog on the board, the Steelers getting two points from the visiting Eagles, won outright.
