NBA Odds: Short-Handed Nets Host Blazers

For now, at least, Kevin Durant is back in uniform for the Brooklyn Nets (41-20 SU, 31-30 ATS). Durant made his latest return from the injured list on Sunday, but there’s a good chance he’ll miss Friday’s home game against the Portland Trail Blazers (32-28 SU, 29-31 ATS), tipping off at 8 PM ET on NBA-TV.

Durant (left thigh contusion) made a big impression Sunday in his first game since April 18, dropping 33 points on the Phoenix Suns (+1.5 away) in a 128-119 victory. This was despite playing just 28 minutes off the bench. Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash says Durant isn’t expected to hit 30 minutes for a while. Friday is the second of back-to-back games for the Nets, so if they choose to give Durant a day off, NBA rules dictate it won’t be Thursday when they’re on the road to face the Indiana Pacers.

The Trail Blazers have had their own health issues this year, but they had close to a full lineup for Sunday’s 120-113 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies (+3.5 away). The only player left on their injured list is Zach Collins, who remains out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his left ankle.
