NBA Odds: Rockets Host Lakers on Saturday Night

The Los Angeles Lakers have dominated the Western Conference through the first half of the regular season. However, the Lakers have several players listed as day-to-day heading into Saturday’s prime-time matchup with the Houston Rockets, tipping off at 8:30 PM ET on ABC. Anthony Davis (tailbone) and Rajon Rondo (finger) are both less than 100% at press time.

Davis is the most important of the two as far as Lakers fans are concerned. He leads the team in scoring at 27.7 points per 36 minutes, just ahead of LeBron James at 26.4 points. Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic was the fourth Davis has missed with this injury; Kyle Kuzma has been starting in his absence. The Lakers are off until Saturday, so their wounded players might heal in time to face Houston.

The Rockets have some bumps and bruises of their own. PJ Tucker (shoulder) and Austin Rivers (ankle) have both been playing hurt for Houston, a team with little bench strength to speak of this year. Saturday will be their first regular-season meeting with the Lakers. Houston took last year’s series 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS against a significantly less-talented LA roster.
