NBA Odds: Re-Tooled Bucks Host Celtics

The Milwaukee Bucks (27-14 SU, 19-22 ATS) will have a different look this Wednesday night when they host the Boston Celtics (21-21 SU, 19-23 ATS), live at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN. The Bucks bolstered their playoff drive last Friday by acquiring defensive stalwart PJ Tucker and Rodions Kurucs from the Houston Rockets, in exchange for DJ Augustin and DJ Wilson. Milwaukee also sent Torrey Craig to the Phoenix Suns for cash considerations.

The Bucks hope that the Tucker trade (which included draft picks heading in both directions) will improve the league’s ninth-ranked defense at 107.9 points allowed per 100 possessions. Tucker made his Milwaukee debut on Saturday and played 13 minutes in their 120-113 win over the San Antonio Spurs (+11.5 away); Kurucs is on the COVID-19 list at press time, and was recovering from a strained oblique before leaving Houston.

Boston’s personnel issues continued last week when Tristan Thompson went into coronavirus protocol – he’s missed the last four games for the Celtics, who are 1-3 SU and ATS in his absence. The C’s had just welcomed Marcus Smart (strained left calf) back to the starting lineup when Thompson was forced to the sidelines.
