NBA Odds: Nets-Knicks at The Garden

The Brooklyn Nets may be the best team in the Empire State, but they’ll be entering somewhat hostile territory this Wednesday night when they face the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. ESPN will have the coverage starting at 7:30 PM ET.

This is an important game for the Nets (40-38 SU, 31-45-2 ATS). They’re guaranteed a berth in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament – Brooklyn wrapped up the weekend in 10th place, 5.5 games ahead of the Knicks (35-44 SU, 37-42 ATS) with just three games left in the regular season. However, the Nets can greatly improve their title chances if they move up into eighth. The 41-37 Atlanta Hawks are one game ahead of Brooklyn and the 40-38 Charlotte Hornets for that valuable spot.

Now that the mask mandate has been lifted in New York City, Kyrie Irving should be available to play for the Nets – although Goran Dragic is in medical protocols, and both Seth Curry and Bruce Brown are listed as day-to-day. The Knicks are in much worse shape, with Kemba Walker and Cam Reddish sitting out the rest of the season, Julius Randle and Nerlens Noel out indefinitely, and Derrick Rose considered week-to-week.
