NBA Odds: Lakers-Heat in Finals Rematch

It’ll be a rematch of the 2020 NBA Finals this Thursday when the Miami Heat (26-24 SU, 22-27-1 ATS) host the Los Angeles Lakers (31-19 SU, 23-27 ATS), live at 7:30 PM ET on TNT – but both these teams will look a lot different than they did last October. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both out for the Lakers, while the Heat have added Victor Oladipo and Trevor Ariza to their lineup.

Davis hasn’t played for Los Angeles since February 14 because of a strained calf, and remains out indefinitely. James went on the injured list on March 21; the Lakers are 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS since, and their recent free-agent acquisition of Andre Drummond has yet to pay dividends, after Drummond had his right big toe stepped on during his first game wearing Purple and Gold.

The Heat, meanwhile, have won their last four SU and ATS, including back-to-back games since Oladipo made his Miami debut. Oladipo was acquired from the Houston Rockets for Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley and a first-round pick in 2022. Ariza, who won a ring with LA in 2009, arrived from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Meyers Leonard and a second-rounder.
