NASCAR Betting Odds – Sharpie 500 Betting Preview (Aug 23)

For the best odds on online NASCAR betting, make sure to visit the Best Sportsbook before Saturday\’s Sharpie 500 under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway. Richard Childress Racing looks to repeat its success at Bristol from earlier in the season, when Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, and Clint Bowyer finished 1-2-3 at the short track back in March.

Best sportbook has Burton listed at 22.800* to win the race outright, with Harvick priced at 11.480* and Bowyer on the board at 20.450*. NASCAR punters looking at Harvick are bolstered by Harvick\’s win at Bristol in 2005, although it\’s Kurt Busch (15.890*) who\’s had the most success at the track of any driver.

Busch has five wins at Bristol in 15 career starts, the same amount as Hendrick Motorsports veteran, Jeff Gordon (10.390*). Gordon has needed 31 races at Bristol to garner his five victories, and has won the pole position five times. More important for NASCAR betting is Gordon\’s consistency on this track, with 18 top 10s and 12 top five finishes to his credit.

Carl Edwards (7.670*) and Sprint Cup Series points leader, Kyle Busch (6.610*), are the pre-race favourites. Edwards took the checkered flag at Michigan last week, and won this race a year ago. A winner on both the Nationwide Series and Craftsman Truck Series at Bristol, Edwards has an average finish at Bristol of 15.4.

Greg Biffle (17.020*) could be the sharpest pick in the field, having the lowest average finish of any driver in the Series at 9.7. Biffle is challenged in that category by Matt Kenseth (13.660*), who won at Bristol in both 2005 and 2006. The public is leaning on Dale Earnhardt Jr. (9.320*) heading into the weekend. Junior was the winner at the Sharpie 500 in 2004, and is primed to challenge the younger Busch atop the Chase standings.
