MLB Odds: Toronto Prepares to take on Kershaw in LA

After a tough series against the Seattle Mariners, the Toronto Blue Jays will head to the City of Angels to take on the NL-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. LA has been dominant this year, owning the second-best record in the MLB at 82-44. The Jays will be playing with National League rules at Dodgers Stadium, which is a rarity for this American League Club. It’s sure to be a difficult three-game set for the Jays, as they’ll be up against one of the favourites to win the World Series this fall, but things may be even tougher as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is not likely to play after suffering a minor knee injury over the weekend.

The Jays will kick off the series this Tuesday when Sean Reid-Foley gets the ball for Toronto. The starter hasn’t managed to pitch more than five innings in his previous five outings, so it’ll be a significant challenge for the rookie righthander when he sees the fourth-best offence in the Majors take the batter’s box.

If things weren’t looking challenging enough, the Jays will be up against three-time Cy Young winner, Clayton Kershaw, on Tuesday. Kershaw has had yet another stellar season in 2019, pitching to a 2.63 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 137 innings pitched. It’ll be a late start on the West Coast, so get set for a 10:10 PM ET game time.
