MLB Odds: Jays-Red Sox at Sahlen Field

The Toronto Blue Jays had a rude awakening on Monday when their four-game win streak came to a screeching halt at the hands of the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox blasted three homeruns and scored eight runs in the first inning alone. Ultimately, the game ended in a 13-4 victory for Boston, who were coming off of two straight losses to the Yankees.

The Jays trail Boston by seven games in the AL East despite having a +86 run differential compared to Boston’s +60. If Toronto hopes to make a second half playoff push, these are the games that they will have to win.

Game 2 is set for Tuesday at 7:07 PM ET and will see Garrett Richards take the mound for the Sox. As for Toronto, an injury to Alek Manoah means Thomas Hatch will get his first start this season after being derailed by an elbow injury prior to the start of the season. The Jays are 1.5 run favourites on the spread and -132 on the moneyline. On Wednesday, Game 3 closes out the series, with Tanner Houck starting for Boston, and Robbie Ray starting for Toronto. Action begins at 7:07 PM ET.
