MLB Odds: Hill Returns for Dodgers Versus O’s

The 93-52 Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in the National League. The 46-97 Baltimore Orioles are second to last in the American League. It should be a blowout of epic proportions when the two teams meet this Thursday at Camden Yards. FOX will have coverage of the carnage at 7:15 PM ET, with Rich Hill (2.55 ERA) making his return for LA opposite Dylan Bundy (5.06 ERA).

Hill hasn’t played for the Dodgers since June 19, when he strained a flexor tendon in his left elbow – the veteran southpaw had a team record of 7-3 (OVER 7-3) when he went on the injured list. The plan is for Hill to pitch the first two innings of Thursday’s game, building up his arm strength for the postseason. The LA bullpen is sixth in the majors with a combined 3.94 ERA.

The Orioles were expected to tank this year, and they’ve succeeded for the most part, although they did finish August with a 6-4 spurt before dropping eight of their last nine. Bundy has the O’s at 9-18 this year (Under 14-11-2), after watching his Baltimore teammates spoil four of his nine quality starts through a combination of poor hitting and even worse relief.
