Zenyatta is taking her gaudy winning streak on the road.
The 6-year-old mare who tied Citation and Cigar with her 16th
consecutive victory in the Apple Blossom at Oaklawn Park on
Saturday is going to travel more outside of California this
year.
Owner Jerry Moss says he and his team will plot a schedule for
Zenyatta that may include a race at New Yorks Belmont Park and a
prep race at Churchill Downs ahead of the Breeders Cup there in
October.
Moss says if Rachel Alexandra, racings other female superstar,
wants to join Zenyatta in any of her races, the 2009 Horse of the
Year is more than welcome. But Moss says Zenyattas schedule will
be based on the goal of having her defend her title in the
Breeders Cup Classic.
